Restoration is a balancing act, too much restoration can look false, bland and lifeless. We try very hard to strike the balance so we can deliver a product as close to the original or as close to the clients brief as we possibly can. We will email you proofs of the finished item for your approval so you can OK them before we deliver the finished item to you.

This photo was losing its image due to fading, there was also some mildew and dust speckles to be dealt with before re-colouring. As a relatively simple restoration and costing just $75 plus prints, post and packing, the whole job was less than $90 for an A4 size print delivered to the door.

Case Study Even a photo as badly damaged as this one can be restored!
This is an altogether different matter, it was a very small original and a family heirloom. As you can see it was badly discoloured with severe creasing, parts were missing and it is the only known photo of its kind in existence.
The restoration of this photo was considerable and the cost was $140 plus prints, postage and packing, several prints were made in sepia tones as well as black and white, total cost $195.

This man was home on leave from military service overseas. He took his fiance out to a top restaurant and as they were leaving a staff member kindly took a photo as a memento. To their dismay when they saw the photo it included the guy in the background, not really how they wanted to remember their short time together.
The photo came to us, we removed the man and the bar staff in the background, reconstructed the bar stool and the windows and doors in the background. The end result was one very happy couple.
Cost around $100 plus prints.

Putting items into pictures is just as common as removing them.
This before and after is a classic case of a good photo but with the subject out of frame.
(Never work with children and animals they say!)
We restored the childs arm and then returned the picture
to its correct balance and provided prints.
Cost just $75 including prints

We use high quality Epson commercial scanners to scan every minute detail of your photo. Scanning can be up to 1600 dots per inch. Once scanned we then digitally repair the damage. Such detailed work can be time consuming but the results can restore a tattered relic into a family heirloom once more. The original print, slide or negative receives minimal contact and will be returned to you along with the restored images. Prints are made up to A3 size on archive quality photographic paper using Epson pigment based inks. This combination has some of the industries highest standards for colour preservation and light fastness. It is also possible to restore images from your own scans if they are scanned at a minimum of 300 dpi and preferably at 600 dpi. That way the whole process can be much faster (and cheaper) while still delivering good quality.
